Who are we – Network Group Holdings plc
Network Group’s business comprises two segments – Specialist Recruitment (“Recruitment”) and Business Process Outsourcing (“BPO”). The Specialist Recruitment business involves the placement of individuals into permanent and temporary/contract positions of employment. A permanent placement represents the placement of an individual into one specific role with a third party employer and generates a one-off fee for the Company based on a percentage of the individual’s starting salary. Temporary/contract placements represent the placement of staff in short and medium term positions for third party employers. This generates ongoing fees for as long as the person is employed. In the current period, gross profit from permanent placements exceeds that generated by temporary/contract placements, although historically, the split has tended to be relatively equal. The BPO business provides a ‘back office’ IT and administrative support function both to our own businesses and, increasingly, to external third parties.
The structure for the Specialist Recruitment business of the Network Group (previously called Pertemps Ventures Limited) was created in January 2004, following a Section 110 demerger from the Pertemps Group. The demerger created a self-standing and manageable structure for the specialist recruitment and outsourcing businesses that now makes up Network Group.
The specialist recruitment segment of Network Group has been built by investing in start-up businesses and by making selective acquisitions, so that it now has a portfolio of over 20 trading subsidiaries in the UK
